Crisp Unina

Interdepartmental Research Center on the "Earth Critical Zone" for
Landscape and Agro-environment Management Support

The videoconference event was promoted by the Order of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of the Province of Salerno.

In response to the problems of the so-called “Land of Fires,” the LIFE ECOREMED project engaged about a hundred researchers in the interdisciplinary study of soils and agricultural ecosystems of the Campana Plain from 2012-2018. The results of the project led to the development of an operational protocol for the characterization and ecocompatible reclamation of potentially contaminated agricultural soils. The protocol is the basis of the national regulation that governs remediation, environmental restoration, and securing of areas designated for agricultural production (Decree March 1, 2019, n. 46, G.U. 132 of June 7, 2019).

Prof. Fabio Terribile – Department of Agriculture, University of Federico II of Naples/Director of the CRISP Research Center will speak on “Innovative geospatial characterization techniques for contamination in agricultural soils.”
