The ecocompatible reclamation of contaminated agricultural soils. Operational guide to the ECOREMED protocol, videoconference on the ZOOM platform, June 3, 2020
The videoconference event was promoted by the Order of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of the Province of Salerno. In response to the problems of the so-called “Land of Fires,” the LIFE ECOREMED project engaged about a hundred researchers in the interdisciplinary study of soils and agricultural ecosystems of the Campana Plain from 2012-2018. The results of the project led to the development of an operational protocol for the characterization and ecocompatible reclamation of potentially contaminated agricultural soils. The protocol is the basis of the national regulation that governs remediation, environmental restoration, and securing of areas designated for agricultural production (Decree March 1, 2019, n. 46, G.U. 132 of June 7, 2019).
